FAQs
What are your areas of specialty?
Each of us maintains a general practice of working with children, adolescents, and adults to address common issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or behavioral problems within the family, school, or work setting. Our staff has also been trained in family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. In addition, we offer specialized forensic services, including individual and group therapy, evaluations, and court testimony. Some members of our staff are fluent in Spanish.
What are your fees?
Fees for our services fall within the usual, reasonable, and customary charges for mental health providers in central New Jersey. Our fees vary depending upon the type of service that is being provided. We encourage you to speak directly to our doctors regarding fees.
Do you accept insurance?
In recent years, managed care and insurance companies have become increasingly intrusive into mental health services. In order to preserve our patients’ confidentiality and ensure adherence to the New Jersey Peer Review Law, we have opted to not participate in any of the insurance networks. However, with the exception of our forensic work, our services would be covered by out-of-network benefits. Payment is due to our office at the time of the visit, and then the insurance company will reimburse the patient directly in accordance with the terms of his or her policy.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, or credit cards.
How soon can I schedule an appointment?
Each doctor schedules his or her own appointments, so we ask that you contact the doctor directly. We offer appointments as soon as mutually feasible.
How do you structure your therapy sessions?
The initial assessment is one hour in length. Any subsequent appointments are typically 45-50 minutes. Initially, appointments occur on a weekly basis, but alternative frequencies can be arranged. The overall duration of treatment varies and is dependent upon several factors. We do offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate various schedules.
What if medication is warranted?
At the present time, we do not have a psychiatrist on staff. However, we have cultivated positive relationships with various psychiatrists in the area and can provide a referral to you if necessary. With your consent, we are happy to consult with the psychiatrist or other professionals involved in your care.
