Sean P. Hiscox, Ph.D.

Dr. Sean P. Hiscox specializes in forensic psychology and is a managing partner at Somerset Psychological Group. He conducts forensic evaluations, provides testimony, and over his career has served as a consultant in a range of criminal areas for juveniles and adults. He is currently focusing on sex offender assessment and treatment, transfer to criminal court, and risk of violence. In civil areas, he performs personal injury evaluations in a variety of areas. In addition, he maintains a small general psychotherapy practice that includes individuals struggling with sexual behavior problems, anxiety and mood disorders, and various adjustment-related problems. He also provides supervision for psychologists working toward state licensure.

Dr. Hiscox is a Fellow of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). He is also a Past-President of the New Jersey Chapter of ATSA and also served as a board member for many years. Dr. Hiscox, along with Dr. Witt, helped develop the Juvenile Risk Assessment Scale (JRAS), which is the standard evaluation method to place juveniles in risk tiers in accord with Megan’s Law. Prior to joining SPG, Dr. Hiscox was a managing partner at Associates in Psychological Services, P.A., where he worked for 15 years.
